Terms and Conditions

 

  1. Eligibility:
  • The Black Business Magazine x Wickes ‘Home Office Improvement’ Competition is open to residents of the United Kingdom only. 
  • You must be aged 18 and over to enter.
  • Participants must be the homeowner or tenant with the necessary permission and rights to refurbish the home office space entered into the Competition.
  • All entrants must operate a registered business on Companies House.

 

  1. Competition Period:
  • The Competition opens on 26th September 2023 and closes on 8th December 2023 at 23:59 BST.

 

  1. How to Enter:
  • To enter the Competition, participants must: 
  1. Submit a clear “before” photograph of their home office space. 
  2. Provide a written description of no more than 500 words of their business and explain why they should win the home office makeover. 
  3. Complete the online application to enter at blackbusinessmag.com/win-a-wickes-office-makeover



  1. Prize:
  • The Competition winner will receive goods to the retail value of £1500 from a local store agreed by Wickes.
  • The non-transferable prize cannot be exchanged for cash or other products or services.
  • No purchase is necessary to enter or win the Competition.

 

  1. Winner Selection:
  • The winner will be selected by a panel of judges appointed by Black Business Magazine and Wickes.
  • The judges will evaluate entries based on creativity, originality, and the compelling nature of the submitted story.
  • The judges’ decision is final, and no correspondence will be entered regarding it.

 

  1. Winner Notification:
  • The winner will be notified by email and/or telephone no later than 15th January 2024.
  • If the winner cannot be contacted or does not claim the prize within 14 days of notification, Black Business Magazine and Wickes reserve the right to select an alternative winner.

 

  1. Publication and Feature:
  • By entering the Competition, participants agree to have their “before” and “after” photographs and their business details featured in Black Business Magazine and associated promotional materials, both online and in print.

 

  1. Privacy:
  • Personal information collected from entrants will be used solely to administer the Competition and will be handled in accordance with Black Business Magazine and Wickes’ respective privacy policies.

 

  1. General Conditions:
  • Black Business Magazine and Wickes reserve the right to cancel or amend the Competition and these Terms and Conditions without notice in the event of unforeseen circumstances.
  • Home office improvements must be completed by 1st March 2024
  • Entry into the Competition signifies acceptance of these Terms and Conditions.
  • Employees of Black Business Magazine, Wickes, and their immediate families are not eligible to enter the Competition.

 

By entering the Black Business Magazine x Wickes ‘Home Office Improvement’ Competition, participants agree to comply with these Terms and Conditions. Black Business Magazine and Wickes reserve the right to disqualify any participant who violates these Terms and Conditions or engages in fraudulent or unethical behaviour.
